We book hunts Tuesday through Saturday. Morning hunts 9AM - 12PM and Afternoon hunts 1PM - 4PM. Full day hunts 9AM - 4PM. We do not offer hunts on Sundays. Hunts conclude once all birds have been worked.
No, you do not need a hunting license to hunt at Quill Feather Farm.
No, you do not need a pheasant stamp to hunt pheasants at Quill Feather Farm.
The industry standard for upland hunting has always been the break-action shotgun. However, semi-automatic and pump shotguns in standard gauges (ex. 12, 20, 28) are permitted. As per PA law, all shotguns must be plugged at a 3-shell maximum.
If your hunt consists mostly of chukar, we recommend 7.5 or 8 shot. If your hunt consists mostly of pheasants, we recommend 6 shot. If you're planning to shoot clays, we recommend bringing target load. Only factory-made shells are permitted. No reloads.
Yes, however, appointments are mandatory. Please do not enter the farm without prior approval. Shoot us an email at info@quillfeatherfarm.com to schedule an appointment.
Please dress appropriately for the activity and weather. Layers are best. Boots or comfortable (waterproof) footwear are recommended. As per PA law we require 250 sq. in. of hunter's orange on head, chest, and back combined.
We are happy to accommodate youth hunters! Any hunter under the age of 16 must have completed a state-sponsored hunter's safety course and/or be accompanied by a parent or mentor at all times during the hunt.
No, we do not sell birds. All birds are allocated to Quill Feather guided hunts and/or training sessions.
You may, or may not, get all of the birds in your package. We do our absolute best to give you the ultimate hunt, and only use top-notch dogs, but there are a variety of factors that are out of our control. Things like wind, weather, and shooting ability all impact the overall success of your hunt...not to mention these are real, live birds that have a mind of their own.
At this time, we do not allow self-guided hunts. All hunts are guided by members of our Quill Feather team....and we select only the best.
